Guide to Skiing and Snowboarding around the World
The best place in the world to ski is where you’re skiing that day. [Warren Miller]
There are countless guides online when it comes to learning how to ski or snowboard so we won’t bore you with a novel on the classic pizza and french fry routine (although it works like a charm). Every ski resort offers rentals and lessons so for all the beginners out there, don’t be nervous as the professionals will take care of you from tightening up your boots to getting on and off the chairlift.
Aside from the expensive equipment (which can be rented away from the resort for less), the biggest costs are lift tickets. There are plenty of American resorts that aren’t charging Vail and Aspen prices. And in some countries, you’d be surprised at how affordable your ski pass goes for.
But in the end, it doesn’t matter that beer and burger will cost you $30+ because you’re in paradise and the only thing slowing you down are the lift lines.
For all you experts, it’s time to show off your skills and hit the backcountry where there is always fresh powder to be found. Many resorts have miles of backcountry to explore where you can pave your own trail for the more adventurous skiers and riders.
Whatever your skillset it, ski resorts across the world truly bring enjoyment to anyone who visits. The next time it snows, call in sick and go enjoy a day on the mountain…
A day on the ski slopes, always beats a day in the office.
