Every ski resort offers rentals and lessons so for all the beginners out there, don’t be nervous as the professionals will take care of you from tightening up your boots to getting on and off the chairlift.

Aside from the expensive equipment (which can be rented away from the resort for less), the biggest costs are lift tickets. There are plenty of American resorts that aren’t charging Vail and Aspen prices. And in some countries, you’d be surprised at how affordable your ski pass goes for.
